Today is the Day

Today is the day we honor those who lost their lives in the tragedies on September 11th. It is the day we remember those who have given their life to fight for our freedom. Today is the day we thank someone who is still protecting our freedom today. Today we put aside our differences and come together as Americans, just like we did after September 11th. We remember that though we may not always agree, we are still one nation under God.

Today is also the day that the military moves my family across the world. I go happily and willingly, knowing this is where my husband is needed and knowing that the Marine Corps is providing us an amazing opportunity to see the world. I go humbly knowing it will not be easy and that I have so much to learn about being a Marine Wife. I go sadly, knowing I will miss my friends and family and that we may miss important events in their lives. I go nervously, as I am not sure what to expect. I go confidently, knowing that I did everything I could to prepare our family.

Today I feel extremely blessed for the love and support we have received from our friends and family. I have been so overwhelmed by everyone who has showed genuine care and concern for this event in our life. So many people have made an effort to ask us about Okinawa and this adventure. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in our lives. It really makes this easier knowing we have so many people who are supporting us and who are just as excited to see where this adventure takes us as we are. Today we say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your friendship and support. Today I say thank you to all of my followers who I may not know personally, but have encouraged me on here throughout my preparations.

Today we say see you later, not goodbye. Today we step on a plane and into a new chapter. Today is the day.

Until Next Time,

  2. Wow! Such a big step. Have you ever been to Japan before? I went to Osaka but it was around 7 years ago, which is crazy to me now! I can't wait to follow along with your new life in Okinawa... a positive attitude is everything and it seems like you definitely have one :)
