Y'all, it's been a whirlwind of a weekend/Monday. I was super busy today and was only going to post something I had been working on for awhile (nail tutorial), but I decided to do a quick weekend recap. Even though I feel like I recap my week and weekends a ridiculous amount, I enjoy reading others so I'm going to share.
This weekend was spent with friends and watching a crazy amount of football. We started the weekend by going to our high school football game. Jake and I are high school sweethearts, so it is enjoyable for both of us to go back and visit. Jake played football in high school so he wanted to meet up with some friends from the team to watch the game. It was kind of weird and awesome to be back. It brought back so many fun memories. Jake reminisced on all of the great times they had on the field and I remembered all the fun times I had watching and socializing with friends.
We spent Saturday the best way we know how, tailgating and cheering on the Cats. I was disappointed because we didn't make it down to the stadium to tailgate, but we did have tons of fun tailgating at a friend's house. We played cornhole, cooked out, and watched the game. It was a noon game, so it was kind of an all day event. The game was fun to watch since UK pulled off a win! We also got to visit with one of our Marine Corps couple friend who were in town and stopped by.

Later that night I went out dancing with my friend Meredith. It was such a blast! To me there is no better way to de stress than to let loose with some great moves on the dance floor.
I don't think the DJ was impressed with my dance moves
Just framing my face. If you have seen Baby Mama with Tina Fey, well, I love you, and you know why I love this dance move.
I really love this girl!
Sunday was a day of relaxing. I slept in and then one of my friends came over to catch up for a bit. I have seriously loved catching up and spending time with friends while we have been in town. It makes me so appreciative of the wonderful friendships I have and gives me faith that we will keep in touch while we are in Japan.
After I lounged around for a bit while Jake met his friends at Bdubs to watch some football. Jake's mom made her famous from scratch spaghetti and meatballs. Seriously, they are so good. Then I met Meredith for some fro-yo. We had sea salt caramel chocolate pretzel, or something like that, and it was incredible. Then I headed home to watch the Cowboys game. Yes, more football. The Cowboys won, which was a great way to wrap up the weekend.
This week we are running errands, packing, saying goodbye, and heading on our way! I can't wait to share our crazy adventures with everyone. Follow the blog on the sidebar to stay up to date with what is going on. You can also follow on twitter, instagram, and facebook. Also, make sure you stop by the blog on Thursday for a giveaway!
I also wanted to share my weekly wishes to link-up with The Nectar Collective
I enjoyed it a few weeks ago when I did it, but hadn't done it again since my wishes were kind of the same. I have some VERY important wishes this week, though.
I wish that I can stay calm and collected during my last few days in the states- There is so much that goes into a move. I have to keep telling myself that I have done everything I possibly can to prepare and now it is just time to do it. I know things will go smooth if I stay calm and don't stress myself out.
I wish that everything will go well during our travels- I know these wishes are supposed to be more like goals, but this is really important. I know I have no control over this and things might happen, but I am hoping and praying everything goes as planned. Things have not really gone as planned through this process and there is so much that can go wrong during our trip over there. I have to remember that it will all work out in the end.
I wish to embrace this change and to take advantage of all opportunities- I am going to try to be as positive as possible. As excited as I am, it is a huge life change and can be scary. I want to embrace it and take every opportunity that comes along during this time.
I wish to document each step so I can help others who are doing the same thing- I am going to try to document as much of our journey over to Okinawa and our experiences as soon as we arrive. One, I want to share it with friends and family. I also want to help others who are PCSing to Okinawa.
Wish us luck as we prepare for our move!
Until Next Time,
Wow! What an opportunity to move! I came across your blog over on The Nectar Collective and love it! I wish you all the luck in the world with your move and hope you settle in well.
ReplyDeleteJust remember your not going at it alone. As well as being with your husband, I'm guessing there will be loads of people on the base that have done the same move. - I apologise for my lack of words, as I've never been in the position before.
Again good luck, keep smiling, new follower. Also can I ask what is Tailgating? In the UK we use that term for when someone is driving on your a** on the road.

Welcome Becky!! Thank you for the words of encouragement. I really appreciate it! Tailgating is that same thing in the US but it also is a term used to describe a pre sports event party that usually takes place out of the back (or tailgate) of a car in the parking lot. There is usually grilling out, mingling, games, etc. It's a fun time!
DeleteAh ok! Making sense now! I think I've seen a few American Programmes ( I lie, alot!) that have included Tailgating. Haha!
DeleteThanks for letting me know :) x
