The Perfect Sneaker

I'm currently on the hunt for the perfect sneaker. My usual go to closed toe, casual shoes are Toms. But, my trusty grey ones have bit the dust and I am kind of over the whole thing. I want something comfortable, cute, and not overly sporty.

I've seen quite a few people sport these

While they look super cute on the people I have seen wearing them, I just don't know if I could pull them off.

Then, I thought of vans and looked at these.

I am just not skateboarder chic enough to wear these. I also think the sole is a bit high.

So now I have moved on to wanting some keds. Just the plain ole' keds your mom used to sport with a fanny pack back in the 90's. I guess they are back in style because I have seen quite a few people wearing them.

Now the question is, are the white ones too cheerleaderish?? I did wear some almost exactly like this during my time as a cheerleader in my school's production of High School Musical.

I found that these simple keds also come in some super cute patterns and colors.

If money were not an issue, these would be the winners

So what do you think?? Are keds still super 90's? Which pattern should I go with? What are your go to sneakers?

Until next time,

M

  1. Keds are super cute and that's all I used to wear when it came to sneakers. The only problem with them is that you can't wear regular socks with them without them showing through the top (that didn't bother me much because I like no show socks better anyway), and they have almost no traction on them so they are easy to slip in. They also get worn out easily, but they are cute and will last you awhile as long as you don't wear them every day. Also because most of them are canvas they get dirty really easily. The plain Jane while keds come in a kind of leather also which I liked better because they stay clean but that's just a personal preference!

  2. I love the keds! You can try out the look alikes from target (they are only 12.99) to see if you like them before committing to a more expensive pair. I got the navy blue ones from target last year for work and ended up wearing them all the time and loving them!
