Traveling is Exhausting

If you follow on Instagram, you know we had the trip of a lifetime in Thailand and are now back to our little island with a lighter wallet and a load of memories. We really enjoyed ourselves and everything went as smooth as possible. It was a mixture of everything and we feel like we got to see a good chunk of what Thailand has to offer. We relaxed on the beach in Koh Samui, we experienced culture in Chiang Mai, and we enjoyed the hustle and bustle in Bangkok. The highlight for me was the cooking class and the elephant riding in Chiang Mai.

I can't wait to share all about our trip on here. It will take me awhile to edit the hundreds of pictures and get the posts together, but it will be worth it when I'm done! I am so glad I have this blog to document all of our adventures.

As much fun as we had, traveling is the most exhausting thing ever. We are so glad that we saw all we wanted to see in Thailand, but traveling to different places during our vacation made it extra tiring. We spent lots of time on airplanes and in airports and an entire 12 hours on a train. On the way home our flight was at 2am, so we basically missed an entire night's sleep. We got home the following day feeling  dead. Jake was sick as a dog, throwing up and feverish, and had to leave the next day for a work trip. I came home exhausted, sunburnt/peeling, eaten up by bugs, nauseous, and feeling dirty from traveling.

I am still trying to get our life in order. The laundry is overflowing, the suitcases are unpacked, there is no food in the refrigerator, there is stuff strung out over every room in the house, and I don't have an ounce of energy to do anything about it.

This is just a small sample of what my life looks like right about now

While I try to get the shambles of our life together, I will also try to get back into blogging. I am not going to apologize for the lack of posts, etc., because I was out living life, but I do appreciate all of the responses and support I got on the posts I did manage to get up. I hope to respond to all of the comments and tweets as soon as possible. I am excited to start this new year and continue to grow this little space in 2014.

  4. Getting back into the routine and caught up on things is no fun after a vacation. I hear ya traveling is so tiring, especially when you get those late night flights which my small budget always seems to by me. Rest up and welcome back looking forward to reading about your trip!

  5. I think the amazing trip that you had would definitely be worth the future penny pinching, and laundry ;) I love that quote, but my mister is too much of a money man to tip his hat to it. We were hoping to get somewhere in Europe as our first real base, but then realized with our income now we won't be able to enjoy it as fully.
